  • The Praying Community

Some of you may have heard mention of an INTERCESSORY PRAYER GROUP or list. This is a "virtual" prayer group, which meets via the Internet and email. It is sponsored by the Center for Spiritual Growth and has members from a number of different churches, and even from different countries.

Sometimes people need prayer, but hesitate to make their needs known to the general public. Sometimes they do not want their names listed in church bulletins. And sometimes, we receive requests from people whom we don't know via the internet. For these reasons, the prayer group is confidential. It is a private email list-only members are allowed to read the requests. It is made even more secure by the fact that either Fr. Nick or Mtr. Laura have to add each member by hand.

The prayer list is meant to be "read-only." It contains prayer requests and updates, rather than discussions.

If you would like to request prayer, you can send an email to Mtr. Laura or put a note in her mailbox. There are prayer request forms on the bulletin board outside Fr. Nick's office and in the niche by the chapel upstairs. You can also leave a request in the little box in the niche by the chapel.

If you would like to join the Intercessory Prayer Group, you don't need to have email, although that makes it quicker. We can call you or mail the requests to you. If you would like to become part of this quietly praying community, please see Mtr. Laura.
